Wednesday (7/30) Growler Fills & Bike Ride

Howdy Friends, We will happily fill some or all of your July beer share tomorrow. Just as a reminder, growler fills/pickups will occur every Wednesday evening from 6-8 and Saturday morning from 10-12. We will also offer a downtown pickup two Saturdays each month after 1:00. For those who have not been to the brewery, we are located at 18 Hunt Road in Belfast (red 2-story building with a garage door). There is limited space in the driveway, so feel free to park on the road.

Pre-Fill Orders: Send us your requests by 4:00 for pickup in the cooler outside anytime after 5:00. Please remember to mark your name off on the chalkboard.

Drop-in: Feel free to stop in from 6:00-8:00 to have your growlers filled and chat with the brew crew.

Wilsner Bohemian Pilsner 4.9%

Beer Descriptions:

Scheldt Belgian Pale Ale: Named after the river that flows from Northern France through Antwerp, Belgium into the North Sea. We attempted to match the water profile of Antwerp for this beer to make it as true to style as possible. Historically, this style has roots that go back to the mid-1700’s and is similar to pale ales from England with a different yeast character. You will find this copper-colored ale moderately malty, somewhat fruity and easy to drink. 92% of the grain used in this beer comes from Maine farmers.

OMT (Old Man Time): This is our flagship beer and one of our first recipes. A stronger version of the American Pale Ale, this style is bitter and hoppy, showcasing American hop varieties that balance nicely with pale and crystal malts. Our creative hop profile offers the bitterness and flavor of a West Coast IPA with the aroma of an East Coast IPA…We call it a Midcoast IPA. 95% of the grains used in this beer come from Maine farmers.

Pixelator: A Doppelbock by style, this beer is a strong, rich, very malty German Lager that is a Bavarian speciality and was first brewed by monks of St. Francis of Paula for them to drink during Lent as “liquid bread”. The original Doppelbock, “Salvator”, was brewed in 1634 by Paulaner brewery. Fun fact: Most brewers name their version of this style with “ator” at the end of the name out of respect for the the original. 91% of the grain used in this beer comes from Maine farmers.

Wilsner was inspired by the Light Lager movement of 1842 in The Czech Republic (formally Czechoslovakia and before that Bohemia). Brewed with Pilsner and Vienna malts from The Aroostook County, along with a traditional variety of hops from The Czech Republic. “Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?”

95% of the grain used in this beer comes from Maine Farmers.

Wednesday bike rides are back!!! In collaboration with the Belfast chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA), join us for an “old school” mountain bike ride (8 miles) that starts and ends at the brewery and rolls over blueberry hills and snowmobile trails on the upper west side of Belfast. All riders are welcome. If you are feeling like biking isn’t your thing, join a crew on a run to the top of the blueberry hill (2.9 miles round trip). Ride/run departs the brewery at 5:30. Bring something for the grill for the post-ride/run “grill and chill”.

Cheers!
