Beer Descriptions:

OMT (Old Man Time): This is our flagship beer and one of our first recipes. A stronger version of the American Pale Ale, this style is bitter and hoppy, showcasing American hop varieties that balance nicely with pale and crystal malts. Our creative hop profile offers the bitterness and flavor of a West Coast IPA with the aroma of an East Coast IPA…We call it a Midcoast IPA. Named after the Godfather of FBB. 95% of the grains used in this beer come from Maine farmers.

Dog Island Dunkel: This is the first of two beers this year influenced by our trip to the Bavarian Region of Germany last October. Of the 130 beers we sampled, Dunkel was the most common style across the region. A Munich Dunkel by style, this rich and malty dark beer offers bready-toasty flavors with hints of chocolate. Bonus points for those who know were Dog Island Corner is in Belfast. 90% of the grain in this beer comes from Maine farmers.

Back of Beyond: Is an American Amber Ale by style, which offers a hoppy, moderate-strength beer with a caramel malty flavor. This style was developed as a variation from the American Pale Ale and is often referred to as a Red Ale in some regions. Inspired by The Monkey Wrench Gang and the red rock landscapes in Moab, UT. 92% of the grains used in this beer come from Maine farmers.

Smokey the Bier: The second beer influenced by our Germany beer trip. The medieval city of Bamberg is well known for its love of beers with smokey flavors. Our time at the Schlenkerla brewery gave us an opportunity to try several styles with these distinct flavors…This recipe is a Smoked Altbier…which is a hybrid beer that combines the clean, crisp, bitter, and malty characteristics of a traditional Dusseldorf Altbier with the smokey flavors from Bamberg. “Alt” referee to the old style of brewing (top-fermenting ales) that was common before bottom-fermenting lagers became popular. 94% of the grain used in this beer comes from Maine farmers.

Cheers!
