Cowbell is for all you farmers out there. A Saison by style, we Americans tend to call them Farmhouse Ales. This is a pale, refreshing, highly attenuated, moderately-bitter Belgian Ale with a very dry finish. Our version offers a pleasantly aromatic mix of fruity-spicy notes from both the yeast and hops. Originating in the french speaking part of Belgium, specifically Belgian farmhouses where they were brewed for farm workers. 100% of the grain used in this beer comes from Maine farmers.
Scheldt Belgian Pale Ale: Named after the river that flows from Northern France through Antwerp, Belgium into the North Sea. We attempted to match the water profile of Antwerp for this beer to make it as true to style as possible. Historically, this style has roots that go back to the mid-1700’s and is similar to pale ales from England with a different yeast character. You will find this copper-colored ale moderately malty, somewhat fruity and easy to drink. 92% of the grain used in this beer comes from Maine farmers.
Prost! Altbier is a well-balanced, well-attenuated, bitter yet malty, clean, and smooth, amber to deep copper colored German Ale that is the traditional style from Dusseldorf. This beer offers a rich malt character reflective of traditional German base malts, with nutty-toasty bread crust notes, with low hop aroma. “Alt” refers to the old style of brewing (top-fermenting ales) that was common before bottom-fermenting lagers became popular.
94% of the grain used in this beer comes from Maine farmers.
Catbird Seat Cream Ale:
An Ale version of the American Lager, with way more character. This style was originally created in the 1800’s and survived prohibition. This pale straw colored beer has
medium to low malt notes with a sweet corn-like aroma. The light hop aroma offers floral, spicy or herbal notes. It’s often referred to it as a “lawnmower beer”, we just think it’s super easy to drink and delicious. 95% of the grain used in this beer comes from Maine Farmers.
Cheers!
